Nancy lives in Spirit Lake with her husband and three school aged children. She volunteers within the school district, Special Olympics and the local YMCA. Nancy and her family received the Iowa Special Olympics VIP Family of the Year award in 2014. Nancy also chairs the Get Up and Bowl for Special Olympics fundraiser for local athletes raising over $15,000 yearly.
